Valentin improvise et joue du piano.
Ils se croisent au Royal College of Music
de Londres, et naît alors un duo.
Ils jouent des chansons,
Celles qu'ils aiment et celles qu'ils font.
Sur le chemin, un troisième larron
Les rejoint. Romain, violoncelliste de son état.
De deux, on passe à trois !
Depuis, à Londres, ils jouent
Dans tous les endroits où
L'on aime se laisser aller,
En musique, à voyager.
Paul Vialard (alias ArchiPol) is a singer, guitarist and songwriter.
Valentin Barray is a pianist, improviser and composer.
They meet at the Royal College of Music in London
and then start a duet.
They perform songs they love, songs they write, songs they share.
A third partner, Romain Malan, a cellist, joins them on their path.
Since then, they’ve been performing in London,
Sometimes along an accordion,
And will be presenting their show

ArchiPol & Valentin (& guests): three pairs of French hands on three different instruments and one voice to perform a wide repertoire of French chansons in an intimate yet theatrical way!

Diplômé du CNR de Rennes en violoncelle et du Royal College of Music de Londres
en chant lyrique, le baryton, auteur-compositeur-interprète, guitariste, flûtiste et
pianiste – à ses heures perdues – Paul Vialard s'est également formé au théâtre
et au clown. Durant ses années de scène, il a développé son propre répertoire
de chansons françaises auxquelles il mêle ses propres compositions.
A graduate from Rennes’ National Conservatory of Music and from
the Royal College of Music in London, French baritone, songwriter,
guitarist, cellist, flute player and pianist Paul Vialard also trained
as an actor and clown. He has developed his own personal style
and repertoire of classical French chansons and also writes his
own compositions.
Valentin Barray - piano
Valentin Barray commence le piano à l'âge de cinq ans. Il se produit en soliste et
avec orchestre. Lauréat de la fondation Andrée Levarey, il a remporté le Premier
Prix de la compétition Raynaud-Zhurfhu qui récompense le meilleur musicien de
tous les conservatoires de France en 2009. Valentin est actuellement au
Royal College of Music de Londres.
Valentin Barray started playing the piano at the age of five. He has
performed classical music both in solo and with orchestra. He has been
laureate of the foundation Andree Levarey and he won 1st prize in the
Raynaud-Zhurfhu Competition which awarded the best musician from all
French Conservatories in 2009. Valentin is currently in his 4th year of a
Bachelor of Music course at the Royal College of Music.
Romain Malan - violoncelle
Romain Malan - cello
Diplômé du conservatoire de Rouen en 2008, Romain Malan remporte l'année suivante un
Premier Prix de musique de chambre avec ce qui deviendra le trio Doumka. Il poursuit sa
formation à Bobigny et au CNR de Reuil-Malmaison auprès de Véronique Marin-Queyras.
Il collabore régulièrement avec les orchestres Prométhée sous la direction de Pierre-
Michel Durand) et JS8. Après deux années comme professeur à l'école de musique de
Fécamp et au conservatoire de Dieppe, Romain a intégré le prestigieux Royal
College of Music de Londres, dans la classe d'Hélène Dautry.
A graduate of the Rouen Conservatoire in 2003, cellist Romain Malan
won first prize in chamber music the following year with what will become
the Doumka trio. He pursued his cellistic education at Bobigny and at the
Rueil-Malmaison Conservatoire with Véronique Marin-Queyras. He regularly
plays with orchestras like Orchestre Prométhée (conducted by Pierre-Michel
Durand) and JS8. After two years teaching at the music school of Fécamp and
at the Dieppe Conservatoire, Romain has now entered the prestigious Royal
College of Music of London under the guidance of Hélène Dautry.
